Used to be active member of JTC, Eva Grace Sengkey, now active in providing internet marketing services and lecturing, mentioned how Toastmasters has helped her with her impromptu speech, a skill which she uses daily. She learned how to make eye-contact, use facial expressions, and convincing gestures. She said these skills are helpful and can be applied during  interviews.

Above all, she said the most important thing that she gets from Toastsmasters is about how to set the objective of her speech: to inform, to persuade, to inspire or to entertain. So for you, guests, join our club. You will enjoy the atmosphere of every meeting we have.

Dyah Yasmina,  VP Membership  of JTC Executive Committee 2009-2010 and currently employed in a multifinance company, is an energetic and passionate young lady who attends the JTC meetings regularly.  The stories, information and experiences  she obtained at JTC have helped her transcend beyond her working skills.

Working with people in a loose / non-profit organization, like JTC, allows her to utilize a good deal of social sensitivity and commitment.

Social sensitivity in terms of dealing with individual differences, suprising reactions, and a wide range of emotional tones. Dyah said: "Who knows what I will find next. And that is why I keep coming to JTC, again and again".

Elbert Ludica, a student, has been a member of Jakarta Toastmasters Club for about 3 months.  He  joined Toastmasters  to improve his use of English. In addition,  at university, the community is more homogeneous ,      at a Toastmasters club, he can meet people with more working experience. 

He said: "At the university we only learn, at a comedy club we only laugh. At Jakarta Toastmasters Club we can learn but also  laugh, therefore I feel it is a very good place….All people look so positive, after listening to the individual evaluation of my speech by my fellow Toastmaster, I know what to improve but I don’t feel down." 

I  hope to finish his 10 speech projects of his basic “competent communication" manual  within about 1,5 year.
